Bio up! in Rheingau

Rheingau is a small, but prestigious Riesling wine region
When we talk about German Rieslings, the name of Mosel always comes to mind. But the modern wine lovers and experts from around the world come to Germany looking for something new, interesting, exciting and special – an undisclosed secret to be discovered.
My daughter Aleksa loves that fresh air in 230 years old Peter Jakob Kühn family vinery with ecological & bio-dynamical viniculture traditions
Just a couple of years ago, in German press, I saw an article about the “rising star” Peter Jakob Kühn vinery in Rheingau, where some of the worlds best Rieslings are made and which I was happy to visit this weekend.
Fresh structure with green, citrus & stone fruits, pronounced floral aromas due to rich clay and quartz soils & super high acidity due to cool climate in Germany to bring you 1m above the ground
Deep gold colour due to 4 years maturation in oak. Delicious, ripe peach, orange zest, honey and toast, full in body & high in acidity, würzig, kräftig – “R” is the best Riesling I’ve ever tried in my life! Only 1600 bottles produced every year and all sold out already!
Organic, biodynamic, progressive and positive thinking wine grower – that’s what I am looking for and that’s what I’ve found!
Dried camomile, nettles, dandelion and valerian root extract are used to fertilise the soil instead of chemicals to protect the vineyards from pests and diseases
Germans love the order, everything here is in right place and position – the whole cosmos is turning around the vinery in a positive way – gorgeous vineyards, incredible wines, Zalto glassware, sincere reception and personal approach
Social responsibility and sustainable attitude to their work, transforming best fruit into the bioenergetic wine
Now Peter Jakob Kühn vinery is a Bio-dynamic Star in Germany and has already earned recognition from European and global wine critics – Gault Millau Wine Guide has awarded it with 5 grapes in 2017 and 2018.
Worth to experience!
Cheers!
